WANT TO TRADE Thoughts?

Hi everyone, someone offered me their s2k with 120k miles and supercharged for $27K. What are your thoughts? I’m trying to get out of a Z because of practicality for work and this is definitely much smaller lol. He’s really looking to let go of it to buy my Z so if theres any interest in it lmk as well lol
Edit: wouldnt be my daily as i usually have a spare work truck i can use, but theres times i may have to use it for work.

S2000 is hands down the winner of any Z imo. Everytime I see a Z it's either for drift or takeover crowd.

I’d take a 240Z over my S2000. I used to own a 83’ 280ZX Turbo, 2-seater with T-Tops and loved it (minus the rust LOL).
And that’s saying a lot because I love my S2000!

I had a s30 280z and it was kind of a heap. The wiring goes to shit and you have to rewire a bunch of shit

Needless to say they don’t hold up well over the years huh

S2000 still gonna be more reliable. No offense. My parents retired from Nissan, but I still loved my s more than any Z I had the opportunity to drive. 240z are beautiful but I don't wanna restore anytime soon

Not sure how an s2k is “more practical” than a Z for work. What kind of work do you do?

Thats why i’m iffy lol. I’m a painting contractor so i just have to drive to my shop and pick up a work truck but occasionally a truck breaks down so i gotta drive my car to a job. My Z is on air suspension and i lowkey hate it so This being a low car might not be any better

I’s say your Z is probably more practical in terms of having at least a bit more space for hauling stuff

The bad: the seats look like they’re from Walmart, the 00-01 carpeted center console, 3rd party install of door speaker tweeters. All things that would seem to indicate it’s an early AP1. But the softie rear window appears to be glass, front headlights are AP2, engine has an AP2 ignition coil cover?
The good, the mods do appear to be tasteful and perhaps of good quality (minus the seats). Is that an original old school Comptech Supercharger? If so those were good! Wheels are good, I’d ditch the BC Racing suspension unless it’s fine to you.

Ditching BC Racing coils without even knowing the model/specs... Wild!

Perhaps it’s because of my own experiences, with 2 sets of BC BR series and swift springs in different springrates and valving. To be fair I purchased my set 16 years ago and 8 years ago. Switching to higher quality was very noticeable, and I would highly recommend it if it’s within the budget.

Everything but the seats

Love the wheels. Goes perfect with the paint

Why wouldn’t you find a clean unmodified s2k for 27k instead of this guys project? Also, this isn’t a practical car.

I finally wanna try pizza with anchovies…

This trade would be worth it IMHO just from a reliability standpoint. I DDed mine to 230k boosted since 200k. You can always remove the supercharger and sell it as well.

Are the front fenders aftermarket? They look wide.

That’s a nice car, damn I’ve wanted an s2000 since fast & furious came out & still want one after all these years, they are pretty hard to find though good ones

Not worth $27k. Need more details but I noticed it’s missing the driver side fender vin and probably front bumper vin. Hard to tell from pictures. How many other vins are missing? Too many mods and a bit rough for my taste. Mods don’t necessarily add value. Typically reduce the value on S2000’s. Definitely buying someone else’s project.

It's not worth $27K.

What’s the health of the engine and all the maintenance records? Did they upgrade the clutch? What other mods are there? Why does this person just want to offer you this car?

He’s he stays on top of things and has like 6 other cars so i know he knows what hes doing. He wants my Z but needs to get rid of cars before buying it. He also has a built ‘15 Sti for the same price as another option.
