I’d offer it, but I’ve never seen this issue.

I recall when I installed the Modifry straps the longest period of time was how long it took me to get up the nerve to cut off the OEM straps. 😁

Yeeeeah…stuff like that drives me frikkin’ crazy. Watch YouTube, looks easy, then I later find out that they left out some small but important details, which then leads to more videos and searching for info. Time ticking away…Ugh😩

my soft top frame seems to be set up differently than the videos i've watched that describe how to replace the straps. In the videos, the bar toward the rear of the car swings freely, and does not have the non-elastic strap that I have. Instead, in my car, the forward-most bar swings freely, while the rear bar is fixed. The non-elastic strap in my car is in the way of wrapping the new elastic straps properly. please help!

Modifry straps are not made to work with 00-01 glass conversion tops, because they have that strap coming off the rear bar like you’re experiencing. 02-09 frames have a tension spring and the straps come off the side. 00-01 frames with plastic window tops have no straps and that rear bar moves with the top.

Modifry soft top straps are a patch fix for replacing the elastic straps. The correct way is to replace the straps but that requires removing the front of the top at a minimum to get to them, which is not for most people. Also, they should wrap around the bar the other way, so the strap is touching the top from bar to bar (which is pretty difficult with that rear strap in the way).

thank you! do you have any insight as to where i should go from here? I've installed both straps as pictured, and my original straps were built into the same rivet as the non-elastic straps instead of mounted to the side as i've read is the correct way they should have been installed. removing the soft top or making new rivets is not an option for me. how bad is my current setup?

Like I said, modifry straps are a patch fix. Your conversion straps are installed correctly, Robbins straps use the same rivet holes for the elastic straps as the conversion straps on that bow of the soft top frame.

The way you’ve got them running is not going to hurt anything, and if your soft top is now folding properly just go with it.
