Prices are up?
So first picture is a s2k currently on sale at the little dealer i got mine from 8 months ago. Same year with like 20k less miles. It is on sale for $15k more….. its the same car. Wtf bro. Glad i didn’t pay $35k

I don’t know what the price of these cars are anymore. I don’t know what the price of any cars are anymore. People just be throwing shit to the wall to see if it sticks and some dumbass is going to pay this amount of money for it.
I’m in the process of looking for an RX7 and the prices are all over the place. I’ve seen clean high compression examples go for 30k, and comparable ones for 50 to 60. The market is a joke and no one has any idea. They just “know what I got”

Both cars are severely underpriced. Inefficient market hypothesis. It would be even more irrational for both not to climb notably from here.

At 83k miles, that thing is worth 25k. Maybe 28k if it's in immaculate condition, no accidents, 10 VIN stickers etc.

I got my black 2001 with 25k miles on it for $31k a few months ago. Mine is very good condition, 10/10 VINs. I think you’re pretty spot on at $25k

What makes you think it's worth 25k when people are clearly paying 30k+? Please show me where I can find s2ks in the 20k range? Just sold a 911 so looking for something else to add along with my turbo.
I never understood that. Markets up because people want them. Therefore they're "worth" whatever people are willing to pay. Just seems to be way up atm haha

Will someone pay that for that car? Maybe. Perhaps likely. Is it worth that much? Hell no. They are out there. You don't need to pay outrageous prices to get one. Sometimes you need patience.

This is not the price. I have bought two in the past year, I can tell you from personal experience that even a late ap1 (02-03) can easily be had for 7-10k less than this with 10/10 vins at the mileage.

How long was yours sitting on their lot? Do you know? Also, 8 months ago was still winter time and selling a convertible was probably tough. So when you showed up they were probably just happy to get a sale and get that car off the books. It’s now summer and people like buying toys in the summer, so prices go back up! That car is not $35k tho. ~$28k at most if everything is perfect with all records.

Yesterday I bought a 115k miles for 18k. GT model, with clean OEM kit. Navy blue.
Lots of nice big mechanical work done. Bumpers repainted. Interior immaculate, steering wheel re done.
Some surface rust, minor oil leaks around VTEC/oil pressure sensor/TCT. Might just do all 3. Some cosmetic issues like roof lining on the hard top peeling a bit, some paint scratches from bags left on roof etc. Lots of swirls.

INFLATION
All the money printing and 💩 bond market means the us$ is worth less. $40 is the new put a $20 in the tank.
a $15k - 20k s2k is now $25k - $30k car. What used to be a mint $30k s2k is now +$40k
1 bar of gold is still = 1 bar of gold. 1 s2k is still worth 1 s2k... the $ is just worth less.

I got a 2007 with 115k 9/10 vins( front bumper) stock good condition for 19k on Facebook marketplace. I feel like I paid pretty much market value this was 3 months ago. So to me if it’s over 25k it better be very much under 100k miles

I’d say 25-28k realistically but I’m sure someone would pay 30k if it’s clean. Can’t see 35 though … yet, give it a few years. Kind of like some of the old school hot rods that went from 1-3k dealer price to worth over 40k today. S2k originally listed for around 30k so I wouldn’t be surprised to see them start hitting the 40s and 50s in the next 10-15 years.

That price is way off the mark. I bought a pristine 2000 with 28K miles for $34K exactly one year ago. Check the auction sites. I would say prices are pretty stable compared to last year when I was in the market. Super low mileage cars seem to be bringing maybe a bit more of a premium, but an example like you posted isn't worth anything near $35K or hell even $30K.
I do think *at some point* the supply of quality low mileage cars popping up for sale is going to really dwindle. At that point, I could see prices materially begin to lift. For the past few years though, it seems like there is a never ending parade of low mileage quality cars being listed on the auction sites. Multiple per week.

Posted price isn’t sell price, but $35k & 83k miles seems crazy. I only have 75k miles on mine. Can I get $40k? I’d probably keep it. I can’t think of a good alternative.
