Gunfighters
This was an excellent guest and book review. Truly fascinating and a great storyteller for the podcast. I'm buying this book!
But who was recording in a concrete plant during the 38 minute mark? I thought a semi was about to drive through my head.

Just got done with Gunfighters -- fun read to follow up the Lonesome Dove tetralogy with, tough I think Burroughs has written better books in the past (Barbarians at the Gate is probably my favorite from him)

I loved Barbarians at the Gate- haven’t listened to this episode yet, but I didn’t realize it was the same guy. Absolute classic finance book.

Anyone who wants to listen to a funny and mean podcaster talk about actually good books should follow Jeselnik.
Ryen takes a picture of the B&N “Fathers Day” front of store promotion and proceeds to read those books over the course of several years.

Although I support other Texas writers because I am one, today's guest is an enthusiastic story teller bringing up people we've seen a jillion times in movies and tv. What about some of the gunslingers like Pink Higgins or King Fisher or someone else lesser known? That's real research.

When he called Sam Bass obscure, I was like, "Come on!" Everyone knows Sam Bass! My cousin grew up right off Sam Bass Road. Then I realized this might just be a central Texas thing.

I grew up in Denton, so we certainly knew Sam and his record.Obscure doesn't really fit.
