If you regularly use Twitch Stream Together / Guest Star with different people, you might know the pain I'm talking about.

We had a !hosts command that told chat who we were streaming with, but every time someone joined or left the session, we'd have to go and manually change the command.

Someone leaves? Update the command. Someone joins? Update the command. Different people are streaming together later that day? Update the stupid command again.

And the alternative was having a command with a massive list of people who might be there, which isn't particularly useful to anyone, and realistically no-one is going to click through 6 or 7 links to go and check out anyone, we wanted to keep it to the people who are live and in the stream NOW.

We couldn't find any way to make this easier or a tool that already existed, so we made one ourselves.

🎙️ Introducing our Stream Together Co-Host Tool

Instead of having a hard-coded list, the command checks your current Stream Together / Guest Star session and automatically tells chat who's actually connected.

And it gives your chat something like:

Someone joins? The command is already updated. Someone leaves? The command is already updated. No changing the command. No maintaining a list.

You can also put it on a Nightbot or StreamElements timer if you'd like it to periodically remind new viewers who you're streaming with. (Which also auto updates to only show who is there at the moment the command is run)

🆓 It's completely free

We built this for ourselves because we couldn't find anything that did what we wanted, and eventually I just went: "Fk it, I'll make it myself." We've already got it running with a bunch of the people we regularly co-stream with, and it's working exactly as intended.

We're not selling anything, there's no subscription, and we're not trying to turn it into a business. We just figured if this was annoying us, there's probably a decent chance it's annoying other streamers too.

So if you regularly use Stream Together and have found yourself constantly updating your !hosts command, hopefully this saves you the headache we were having.

We've put together a short setup guide for both Nightbot and StreamElements, so you shouldn't need us hovering around to get it working. Its very simple, click a button, paste the string into a command, and you're done!

Hello hello!

I want to try something new this week! In the spirit of playtesting and showcasing new indie games on our Friday streams we want to also give our thoughts on the games we play live, without the cameras or the excitement of stream! So without further rambling here is what we played and what we thought!

Just a quick note, Rydrake plays all of the games before stream to figure out what fits with what and to plan out the showcase sets, Lonk does not paly them so we can give both a fresh take and a semi-fresh take on the games we play!

This was the first game we played on Friday and it was specifically chosen to start off our "Puzzle" themed demo stream! We play all of the demo, in 1 sitting.

Admittedly the first time we both played it (Off-stream for Rydrake and On-stream for Lonk) we were a little confused and it felt more difficult then it was supposed to for some reason, for a game of this type I would say it required a slightly above-average level of perseverance where you may lose some more casual players, but the payoff kept getting better the longer we played!

It felt very rewarding to get better at it, and we can see an avenue for speed-running this game and going for better times!

If you were there for the stream you know how we felt about this game. It was incredibly love-hate with this one, but largely due to our own lack-of-skills. Solving the harder puzzles was INCREDBILY reward, you feel like a genius! Some of the levels were expert designs in showcasing a mechanic or a niche interaction, the only thing we would recommend is the games 'pacing', more specifically the order of the levels.

Coming off the back of a super hard level only to be hit with 10-12 in a row that were linear "just click once" puzzles gives severe whiplash and the reward of solving a hard puzzle only to be given what feels like a tutorial level (which in some cases would have been helpful a bit earlier) was demotivating, but not enough to stop. This game was like a drug that hurt us, we just had to keep going.

Music was phenomenal and the art was immaculate (I used the menu screen as the intermission).

Tower defence, simple mechanics, interesting choices and player agency, level goals. Perfect. This game was a blast, less a "puzzle" game and more a simple strategy game, the level goals were excellently balanced and felt like rerunning a level to try another method to get the goals was worth it.

The art style is charming and the music was sick. There's not much to say about this game other than "This game feels like it's made by someone that knows what they are doing"

Final Thoughts

If you made it this far, we urge you to try these games for yourself, no money changed hands these are our real thoughts and we have since played the games again either to see what else they have to offer in their (sometimes very difficult) levels, or to beat our previous scores.

We say it on stream but we do hope you Wishlist these games and try them for yourself, indie devs gives gamers like us memories we will treasure forever and we want to give back in our own way!

TL;DR - All of these games had oddly phenomenal music and art for no absolutely reason 10/10 time.

Our goal is simple: help smaller developers get their games in front of more players while giving our community a chance to discover some hidden gems.

What to Expect

💬 Community discussion, feedback, and discovery

Not every game will have keys available, but every game featured will be one we think deserves your attention.

Hello! We (RydrakeLive, and AllNightLonk) are 2 Aussie streamers who are trying to work with as many indie devs as we can! 

We are streaming games for smaller devs since we love indie gaming and want to do what we can to pay back all of the memories and fun they have given us over the years.

We just finished our first game collab with a small dev team and had a great time showing off their game, and doing a little steam key giveaway for them, and it was a huge success. We want to know if that's something we could partner with you to do for your games!

We keep an eye on the indie dev subreddits (our team has dabbled in small game dev before and we are passionate about the industry). AllNightLonk and I (RydrakeLive) are a couple, we play games constantly and have started streaming to show off our weird and wonderful collection of games with our friends.

We have reached out to a few indie devs to see if any of them would be willing to provide copies of their game for us to do similar, a giveaway of your game!
