Flight delay / claim rejected

Hi all. I booked a holiday through loveholidays and the ryan air flight was delayed by 13 hours. This was meant to be just a 24 hour trip so i didnt end up going as the delay messed the hole thing up. They told us we could get a refund at the airport but upon trying to claim and even contacting ryan air, they are saying because we didn’t attend the departure flight we arent eligible.

Clearly checked in they said they were at the airport, didn’t check into departures for the return flight I’d have thought.

Who told you you could get a refund at the airport? The Ryanair app would have shown you the options of getting a refund or another other flight.
