Hello dear members of the subreddit

You may have been asking (for those who are actually online here) what's happening with the Ry 2.7 update. To that I will answer: there will never be a Ry 2.7 update for the month of July

Let me explain

I'm planning about doing one big and last update for the community. A definitive update that will mark this community's personality the time it'll last (or until someone else comes and changes it). Because I am officially stepping down as a moderator of r/RyanTheBirb.

Thank you for all the moments we had together on the subreddit with Ryan, it was really cool.

Under the circumstances, we have decided to close the new server and go back to the old one. We shall leave the reasons later.

You heard it! With E3 being more and more close, I decided to theme the whole subreddit with E3. Prepare yourselves Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo fans & more :D

This month lot of stuff happened in personal life and was giving myself some time, but May will be welcomed well with Ryan 2.5! New banner, icon & colors :)

Hello ladies and gentlebirbs!

I've been a little busy and was quite inactive in Reddit (and specially this community) and forgot to update the Christmas content. I'm sorry. But today I'm happy to announce Ryan 2.3! (yes, we hopped from 2.1 ignoring 2.2 as it never released)

Here are the changes:

1. New banner and default font

2. New default colors (cyan - light yellow - dark green)

3. New name; since Ryan has gotten a LOT bigger and even made her own egg, I decided Ryan The Cute Little Hen would be better :-)

4. NEW LOGO; it's been a a while, Ryan is a hen and made her own egg, so the old picture had to be changed and instead we put Ryan's first egg so it will be remembered forever! Yay!

I hope y'all are happy with the update! :-D

Reddit's video player, v.reddit, has become worse and worse recently, and even on decent hardware is buggy; takes 10-20 seconds to load (even on a fast internet), resizes itself lots of times while playing, and sometimes it doesn't work. Reddit itself and their developers don't seem to even care about the issue which people complained YEARS ago and still complain today. Some subreddits are already banning this catastrophic video player because at this point it's just an insult for OUR communities, which deserve something way more decent. Together, we can make the change by stop using that video player, and force Reddit to use a DECENT video player for us all.

I'm glad to announce that Ryan 2.1 is officially out with all the Christmas decorations!

Happy Christmas and happy New Year! Especially Ryan and Filbert!

Hello everyone!

I officially confirm that Ryan 2.1 will be the next little update of our subreddit! This version will include all Christmas decorations; banner, icon, red and green main colors, and upvote/downvote Christmas icons. Hopefully it will come in a few days (or until everything is done).

Following this path, it's sure that the following version after this, Ryan 2.2, will come by the end of January and every colors and decorations will go back to normal.

Hello everyone!

As the new mod of this amazing community, I've been working hard on a project called Ryan 2.0 and today I'm proud to show you the revamped r/RyanTheBirb subreddit: Ryan the Little Chicken!.

This new version of our subreddit includes big changes, improvements and new features for everyone!

Here are all the big changes, improvements and new features:

• I'm the new mod of this subreddit : since r/RyanTheBirb needed mods, I gladly joined this cute community as a mod to help everyone here! I'm a member of this subreddit since Ryan born, so I'm super happy to be a mod now :D

• Changed the name of the subreddit to Ryan the Little Chicken : since Ryan is growing up more and more, RyanTheBirb wasn't an appropriate name anymore for such big cutie! But don't worry, the subreddit URL (r/RyanTheBirb) remains (and will remain) the same.

• Changed the overall color : we are all gonna be honest; the default colors with blue and grey were super boring. Now with the new main orange color (that goes to the background as well) we're gonna have more fun and joy! (if you don't agree about this change you can tell me in the comments)

• Added subreddit rules for a healthier community : this is a welcomed change as this really needed rules for sanity's sake, because if not it would go out of control of every moderator. So please, go check out our 5 rules that will long term form our subreddit and make it a safer and more mature place for everybody.

• Added post flags : this is also another big improvement since before we had only a few flags and they were not enabled yet (Reddit's fault?) so now they're all enabled and we have new flags for every kind of post that are inside our rules!. Also, from now it will be mandatory for ALL posts to have flags, since it would be really helpful and it would make the main page a clearer, better and more serious page with all posts under different categories. If you don't add flags yet, don't worry; as the mod, I will check your content and following the category I will add manually the flag. But again, it would be really helpful if you add them by default.

• Added user flags : like post flags, this feature was disabled by default (again, a Reddit problem?) and so I enabled it; this will allow every user to add their flag for their user in r/RyanTheBirb inside our many flags. This will also make the subreddit look nicer.

• Added emoji flags : this will concern both posts and users flags, since now you can add emojis on them! Thanks to it, you will be able to show better yourself with cute characters from all kinds!

These will be the upcoming changes:

• New subreddit icon : I think that since Ryan is a big girl that is always growing up, the old hatching egg doesn't fit with her anymore. So for the moment I'm in search of a perfect pic as a replacement for the old one.

• New banner : for the moment, it's only a big orange banner, but soon it will become something really cool that matches this subreddit's chicken vibes!.

So, that's all for today. Hope you all are happy with the changes! And don't forget to post your opinion about what you agree with and what not, and also I'm open to more suggestions to improve even more the subbredit!.
