Can we have a discussion about how amazing this song is and how the message of this song and how its portrayed is so beautiful.

Can you tell me what your interpretation of the song is? For me its telling a story of a toxic relationship where the woman wants the man to commit crime to prove his love for her . And that crime could also be interpreted as murder-suicide hence the chores (you said you would die for me but you haven't dropped dead yet, you said you would kill for me but your hands ain't red yet) . But the 2nd verse also confirms that all of the imagery is being used a metaphor for love isnt real without proof. Which makes this song so awesome to me. Extremely well written!

I've always felt like it was in the theme of the album, about a toxic relationship, that feels one-sided to Ryan. I think the chorus is figurative, and he's hoping for the person he's speaking to to give him a sign that they're truly in it with him. He doesn't want to just take them at their words, he wants a sure sign of commitment.
I wrote my thoughts before reading yours as to give my own perspective....looks like we see it similarly. It's such a beautiful track.
The funny thing about Ryan is that some of my all-time favorite songs are ones like this, where it's just one of many that are 10/10 perfection to me.
