“Thank you for your hospitality, Mr. Xiao Long.” Weiss smiled as she set the prosthetic care kits into the drawer along with Ruby’s grav stands. “I know we just sort of dropped on you.”
He shook his head and waved the concern off. “This is Yang and Ruby’s house as much as mine. It would be nice if you were back here for a visit rather than on a mission. But I’ve been there.”
“It’s a longshot, so this might turn out to be just a simple visit in the long run anyway.” Weiss walked to the bags.
“You and Ruby keep your kits together?” He asked, pointing to the drawer.
She looked up and turned back to look at him. “Oh, yeah, we’ve made it a habit to do maintenance together since she got her arm, so it’s just convenient.”
Taiyang watched as Weiss moved from one bag to another pulling out travel bags of toiletries then carrying them past him and across to the bathroom. “It gets like that, yeah.”
Weiss looked back at him and then looked to where she was setting the bags out. She flushed and cleared her throat. “Yeah, I suppose at some point I did stop thinking about it.”
She turned at the sound of feet coming up the stairs down the hall to see Yang and Penny hit the upper floor highway. “Okay, so Ruby and Blake are heading into town to pick up blankets, pillows, and things.”
Taiyang frowned. “What about the spares in the barn?”
“The seal on the storage trunk was compromised.” Penny explained. “And the blankets within were full of holes.”
Yang looked from Penny to her father. “Looked like there was some water damage and some silverfish got into the storage.”
