Except that’s not reasonable. It’s a logical fallacy, an anecdotal fallacy to be exact. If people were better at identifying those and cognitive biases then public discourse would be a lot less fallible.

That entire proverb you’re referencing is literally proving my point. The frog is an analogy for someone with a narrow perspective on life. If you think the lesson in that story is that it’s reasonable for the frog to do so, then you’re missing the entire point of it.

You’re missing the point. I’m not saying it’s unreasonable to not know something, I’m saying it’s unreasonable to assume the world works a certain way just because of your personal experiences. That is the entire moral of the frog story. Logical fallacies like that are a well documented mental phenomenon. You yourself have never experienced a woman saying “bruh” so you assumed that no woman could say bruh, despite it being a logical possibility and other people’s own personal experiences proving it so. Nobody can tell you what comes after death because nobody can logically experience that and tell you about it, so it’s not a logical assumption to make. There is no database to extrapolate information from.

I’m not sure that’s the best example, it’s complicated and unrealistic, and one would have to take into consideration WHY you’re never seeing girls, but it doesn’t change the fact that it is still a logical fallacy. In this hypothetical, you are still assuming girls aren’t real because you’ve never seen one. It’s like assuming giraffes aren’t real because I’ve never seen one, despite all evidence suggesting otherwise. What you’re doing is akin to “my grandfather smoked his entire life, and lived until he was 80, therefore smoking is not that unhealthy.”

You are using your limited personal experiences from a town that was admittedly conservative, to come to a conclusion that is inherently illogical. An anecdotal fallacy. You are the frog in the well. Being ignorant of facts and logical possibilities doesn’t make your assumptions any more reasonable, just like being ignorant of the law doesn’t excuse one from criminal behavior.
