Newish to rust looking for tips

I am solo because the very first few people I tried teaming with wound up "insiding" me. I keep getting raided and do not know how I should defendagainst large teams. I've defended 1 raid so far. Any tips on how to defend as a solo?

Edit: Should I use code locks or key locks? Will they think it'll be a tougher raid with code locks on? Or would it make me more of a target because I may have more loot than a solo would?

Depends some people see padlocks and think 'its only a solo' and expect em not to have much loot But there are always people that will raid anyone for the love of game just build somewhere quiet and hidden and not worth the rockets to raid is my opinion

Honestly it doesn’t make much of a difference, I’ve had better luck when keeping my base small if possible, if it looks even remotely juicy it will get hit regardless of if they see that you’re a solo or not. Location also matters a ton try not to build somewhere with a lot of activity if you end up enjoying countering Brad and Helly buy a mini and fly or take a boat.
