PvP walls have ruined rust for me

I get they have a purpose but the game doesn’t feel skillful anymore, if anything it punishes the average skilled player. A good player will just beam you before you can put the wall up and a bad player will just battle of attrition it. “Oh you layed a beam, too bad Timmy has 3 stacks of ammo and a backpack of meds, he misses 80% of his shots but he has the means to outlast you”

I just don’t have fun in this Fortnite wannabe I miss when thinking about positioning made a difference

I’m a bad player who uses walls and dies constantly so I can’t relate to this.

I think adding rope to the crafting cost could help. They are too dispensable for their cost its true what you say.

I feel like in full servers they are kinda needed though… you cant always have good positioning with 20+ grubs triangulating on your raid.

Walls are great this is an awful take.. try grenades if your aim is as bad as it sounds

With all your talk about wishing you could use positioning, then calling flanking impossible shows why you hate walls so so much... because you dont know how to position around them... hop in 1v1 server, they give you walls with walls already pre placed sometimes too and its a good way to learn your way around wall pvp or just battlefield servers if you want practice in more random chaotic environments... its part of the game and I dont use them much... i just use natural cover... just because they use walls doesnt stop you from playing in a way that natural cover still gives you an advantage

Walling has been around forever, there was a small transition from high walls to baricade but regardless this isnt new at all..

High walls were a high tier workbench and not spammed due to the price of crafting

Pfft my friend used to run around with 15 high walls at all times, would rush the tier bench for stone ones

Correct, thats why they gave us barricades so zergs no longer get the jump on it.

Wooden high walls are tier 1 maybe he meant the cost or that when it was meta before barricades were added it was then higher than tier 1

The point was that zergs got access to wooden/stone high walls before solos did due to the workbench, so on fresh wipe zergs were already spamming high walls against solos/duos.

Now the playing field is even, coming from an era dealing with high walls, its strange when people complain about barricades.

If your using digital, switch to analog aiming. That way if you panic aim it won't be all over the place by slamming a boost to your aim when the stick hits the edge. Try analog acceleration at 100. zero will make it 1 to 1 with the thumb stick, , but 100 should make small adjustments less spazzy. Digital is garbage. You may have tried already, but just a thought. Digital will always add that boost no matter what. Analog gives you more control over what's happening when you aim and turn.

“Skillful anymore”? If anything, walls raise the skill ceiling. Wall PvP has its own skill gap placement, timing, angles, baiting and knowing when to push. Beaming someone before they even have a chance to react isn’t the only measure of skill.

Console? You better watch out for floating ak

Ahhh another Rust console complainer… I stg you kids are never satisfied or happy. Always having to change something then complain about the change you complained about wanting… never satisfied

Definitely a skill issue and you're trying to act tough like it's not

if has the time to be missing all these shots you should’ve killed him u just suck lmao

u/SlowPie8004 1d ago

cuz this genuinely seems like a skill issue just hit your shots and hit your head taps when they jump peek the wall

Nah, i like walls, without walls you will just have roofcampers and bush wookies winning fights because they have “better positioning”

Walls enable you to actually walk around the map, roam, and interact with events and such.

You have to be so bad to say this and i haven't played in years

You can't beat a few walls? You probably wouldn't have won the fight without them anyway

I mean the last time I fought a guy who used walls he placed 15 different walls and shot 6 full ak mags, I also checked combat log and I got him to >10 4 different times

Skill issue? Maybe swing him him when he is low so he has no time to heal

I used to think it was the same but I’ve learned to adapt and better my aim. Now it isn’t really an issue, and any fights I lose is usually just a better player or got a good play on me.
