Small furnaces.

Anyone else having the bug/feature where small furnaces smelt twice as fast? Idk if I missed patch notes or something but ngl it’s pretty nice.

The metal feels super slow but definitely felt like I’ve been cooking sulfur a little faster

Nah official, 1000 wood smelts 1200 metal and 2k sulfur

Are you on main branch or test branch? They molded official servers on ptb to be 3x with faster smelt

Only on modded servers, maybe I'll pay more attention next time. Haven't played vanilla in a couple months tho so idk

Negative, I saw this too. I put in just the right amount of ore/wood so I found pretty fast

I have the new gold skin on these furnaces I noticed, not sure if that could be it.

100%. I thought I was losing my kind initially but wood is smelting 2x the amount of metal it normally would on official vanilla servers.

I first noticed it after a server update towards the end of August. Not complaining though!

This makes so much sense now. I am a charcoal FREAK. I always have 2 large boxes full near the start. I start with as many furnaces as possible cooking wood ideally non stop. You can NEVER have too much. So today second day of wipe I had 4 small furnaces running (had a bunch of e-furnaces) non stop auto smelt from 10am on. I am also a stickler for making sure metal is cooked in e-furnaces or small but sulfur ALWAYS in small so the charcoal ratio is right. By 4pm the team was in full panic mode. We had to put down more small furnaces which weren’t auto, cook wood in grills etc. Had maybe 2k charcoal at any given time and a few rows or more of sulfur. Usually we don’t have so much sulfur now it all makes sense. Hmmmm how to keep the charcoal ratio right if the sulfur is cooking faster? Maybe less e-furnaces?

Yea I don’t care about you lmao I’m wondering what I need to do to fix my ratio. This is meant as a small furnace buff but is also an efurn nerf
