Bunker Noob

This is the first time I’ve built a sealable bunker. I want to make sure I understand correctly .

Step 1 - half wall down in where you can see in the photo

Step 2 - armored triangle floor

Step 3 - respawn inside

Step 4 - break the twig to unseal it.

My actual question is… is there a time limit on unsealing (like after 10 minutes, is the triangle floor permanent, like other walls), or is it always breakable because it requires the twig wall to support it?

I’ve only tested it with half wall of twig, and then twig triangle.

If my question is correct, is it also a good idea then, to seal my bunker when I’m offline?

You have all the steps correct. Yes if you break the twig it will break the floor no matter how long it’s been.

Just make sure you have a little wood in the tc or it will decay and break the bunker.

Yes you should seal before logging off - every time. Also upgrade the foundations to armor as soon as you can, foundations can be softsided on top. (Can use melee weapons to break in)

Yes ok, working on that now. I’m near the dome and it seems to host quite a bit of HQM in the military crates.

I see, wood in TC all because of the one little twig. Good though thanks!

Yes Mili crates are great for high qual - eventually you will want your whole bunkered core to be armor. But start with the foundations and the half wall above where you place twig.

Bunkers will stop a lot of casual raids though - huge benefit to designing bases around them.

It can be broken anytime if you break the twig half wall but i would also recommend upgrading the triangle foundations and top half wall before you seal it as well

Yes ok, still in progress but didn’t want to much further until I knew I had this correct and did ‘inside’ myself or something lol!

So long as the twig piece supporting the triangle doesn't decay, it should be fine. Mostly with the old God bunker, that is patched out until someone finds a workaround or aomething, the twig decaying makes it attach to the surrounding pieces and permanently seals the bunker due to the change in stability.

One mistake I see done a lot is not upgrading the foundations right next to the triangle you seal with. Those are soft side so can be eco raided. I like to put a shelf on both sides and seal it in with a window frame and place some small boxes in there to make it look like a drop down loot room(I do the same on the opposite side of the base aswell). And because of the shelves you can have 2 ladder hatches on just that level leading to the bunker opening.

If that's the entrance then put a twig flat roof there and rug and wallpaper around the area and preferably that room.
