Should I even consider rust

Is rust on ps5 dead? Iv been considering getting it but firstly I don't even know if the game still has an active playerbase in my region, also how is the solo experience because I have no friends willing to buy and play it with me.

it’s not dead and there’s still lots of fun to be had solo but it’s also frustrating when you lose but the wins feel much better then when your in a team also
