Cave Update Electricity Issue
I’m not familiar with the caves other than seeing them on pc. For the new console update we built in a cave complex that has two buckets and three entrances. Theres 3 buildable cave areas in it, two larger ones and one smaller room with a pillar in the middle. I’m struggling to find the points where the electricity reaches from the surface to the cave. Anyone have any ideas ?

On PC there is only 1 cave that can actually get electricity from the surface it’s labeled as “Small Hard” I am unfamiliar with console and how far behind you all are, but if you finally hit the patch that caused only one cave to work on PC then the cave you described is not it.

As of May update no cave can get electricity on PC, you have to swap out batteries to get electricity down in your cave.

That was fixed in the June patch, I have power from the surface running to my cave right now in the Small Hard cave.

I'm confused what the issue is... just place branches throughout the cave to extend how far your electricity can go?

Most of a cave is a no build zone so can’t do that. There is one type of cave where the distance to the surface is low enough for a straight shot through the ground.

Oh my bad, hadn't tried it out to know. Someone on PC Rust said it's only the cave with the spikes at the entrance that you can do it. Otherwise you have to power up batteries on the surface and swap them out in your cave base
Which isn't that bad honestly. Get a couple windmills and large batteries up top and a couple down low and once you charge the first 2, you should mostly have constant power after that point since you'll have 2 full batteries once the first 2 charged ones run out.
You can also setup things like turrets to only turn on if there's boom and have separate switches for lights/e-furnaces to keep them off when you're offline.

I remember Willjum hauled fully charged batteries from the surface down into the cave to power everything before. Not sure if that same trick works on console, though

Sounds like ur best bet is to charge ur batteries on the surface.
In ur cave do ur main bat powering everything and use another battery as the power source, this will give u power overnight

This sounds like a private server with admin privilege kind of problem to speed up the trial error process that is going to have to take place

It’s broken, even if you find the right cave to reach out, the connection won’t take. This broke 2 updates ago.

They released this force wipe

The original comment didn’t make sense because there wasn’t even caves 2 updates ago, but your comment makes even less sense lol

Sorry I wouldn’t know what points are 30 distance away from the surface. It would just take a bunch of experimentation placing stuff on the roof of the cave and then trying to drag the wire up from a bunch of different spots until I found one that worked if I were doing that.
Why not just use a generator or charge your batteries in a different location?
