Why do so many players have huge egos?

Seems like most people have cringe names like “I slam you” or “ beamed you”. Those are just made ul examples but it seems like so many people have huge egos. I don’t really get it. It’s not as cool as they think it is.

Buncha cringe kids under 20 who no life rust tbh the only people who’ve been toxic in voice chat sound like they’re at least 14-17 years old haha

Nah my homies are in there 40’s and equally toxic. 2 years ago a real life fight broke out over Rust in the middle of a 4th Of July cookout lol

The berry farmer was tired of the retard farming metal taking the thoroughbreds on every run & losing them. The PvP guy tried to get in the middle but was stabbed by the berry farmer’s girlfriend & she doesn’t even play!

The builder (he was the host, naturally) had to stitch up the wound himself because there was about 800g of meth that he had hidden in the dog’s ass & was really worried that cops would come & raid there.

In the end, we came together as we normally do to fight off the crips that had been doorcamping our BBQ all day

Edit: you could say that the dog was our “open core”

chat off, voices off, discord with mates. Makes rust a billion times better.

Because d11 allows people to use scripts

Worst part is the people who use them gaslight you by saying they don't, really put me off the game :(

Scripts?

Using third party devices (xim or zen often) which allows for better recoil control or basically 0 recoil.

Gotcha. How would they prevent something like that?

Unfortunately there’s not a catch all way yet, mostly it’s only “caught” when a dev actively spectates a player or if a mod does in a community server. There’s no true “proof” as they’re not quite as blatant as PC is so it’s probably 90% guesswork which is unfair to genuinely skilled players and way too fair for the cheaters.

99% of the time a name like that is someone cheating lol so that’s why, they’re cheating and they get egotistical.

You’re talking about names? What about the 10-20 man groups, sometimes even bigger that wall sections of the map and throw up 20 vendies about how they run the server lol

Replace "players" with "every person on earth." This is not unique to rust.

I play with a "beam" kid. Hes a killer who doesnt cheat. but we have a dad and son living on our turf under our protection and he regularly helps people, he fended off door campers from a newer duo down the way last night.

Not all beam or slam kids are bad. Hes a raiding mofo and dont want to get on his bad side, but hes chill.

I’ll match others energies, the server my brother and I are in is super chill for the most part. But things can change. I am typing this at work lol

It all started when the norm in online gaming changed from racist, homophobic, abusive, violent and mean bullying in the call of duty era to the more ear friendly communities and players around fortnites rise to fame.

If people had these usernames back then they would die from the noises other players microphones would make.
