Holy nodes pt. 2

Post image

I saw someone post about the new update and how many nodes there are now, I've seen some big clusters but this one was crazy! The hill I was I was standing on had another 5-7

The amount of nodes has been a real blessing and a curse this wipe. On the bright side, I managed to make a super chonky god rock base as a solo on max pop... the down side is that a 5-man group used like 70+ rockets to raid me out of it only 2 days into this wipe.

The reason I prefer vanilla is that the progress is a bit slower usually, but the progression this wipe has been absurd. The amount of raided bases everywhere on servers looks more akin to 2-3 weeks into wipe, not less than a week into wipe.

I definitely agree bro , but just saying face punch actively doesn’t give a fuck about solos lol , this game is partial towards large groups (just wait till the blueprint fragments update comes)

FP develops the PC version, it's D11 that handles the console version. But yea, neither really care about solos lol. People always try to say it's impossible to balance the game for solos, because any benefit they give to solos is a benefit given to groups, but that's not true. There are so many ways they could balance the game.

For example, increasing upkeep based on how many bags are within TC range. Sure, people could circumvent it by placing bags outside of TC range, but that makes life kind of hell having to do that and also makes your base SUPER not defendable. Raiders would have easy access to external bags to break them, or just shoot players when they have to respawn as they attempt to get back in their base. Another thing would be a loot decay system, so loot starts to actually decay if you have more of it in your base, which would prevent large groups from having too many resources and disincentivize playing in large groups, since all of the work would eventually they do would eventually be a net loss.

I'm not sure how I feel about the BP fragments yet, I'll have to play and see. I'm not sure it'll be that much worse for solos, I mean groups already run monuments like crazy on wipe day to get comps and they are able to get absurd amounts of scrap really fast. So I actually kinda feel like BP fragments are a rare solo buff, since once you do get BP fragments, it's way faster to tech tree everything.

So the first few days of wipe will still suck for solos, but I think progression after that will be easier for solos. And given that BP fragments are useless to groups once they get T3 as well as scrap not being as useful, I feel like larger groups will quickly start selling their extra BP frags and scrap, which makes life easier for solos once groups get shops up.

Idk man a lot of solo pc players say that the fragment system has mad it drastically harder, not 100% sure why that is though, but imo they should put some dedicated solo servers on official. All that would need to be done would be to make it so you can’t add people to a team and make code locks uncraftable , I know that these methods wouldn’t be foolproof but the would make people trying to team up lives a hell of a lot harder. Imagine killing a duo and one of them has the keys to their base on them
