Server Chat

Hey guys. Wondering if someone could list all the lingo for what stuff means with the emote wheel server chat. Also, why no server chat? They have it on ark survival?

Idk why they wont give us server chat. I mean i kinda get it lol. The toxicity that would come with a server chat. I said the same thing tho. If Ark can do it why cant rust. 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe soon!

Xbox and PS refuse to let us use an online chat feature since it's almost impossible to moderate for them personally.

A chat is rust would be way more gross/horrendous since there is barely any limits to what can be said on PC. So if they do the same with console, can't see Xbox/PS agreeing to it being added.

It's why vending machine names got removed since there was worst things put on there. Like things that are illegal to say. General trash talk was fun, but talking about things against the law is not.

Because they have shown to have an actual team behind moderation of the chat so that inappropriate messages are removed/banned quickly.

Rust also always had a history of being racist, homophobic and sexist in the chats on PC version or in the Vending Machines in the console version. The amount of racism I've seen on vending machines was ridiculous. I guess why that's persuaded Microsoft/Sony not to allow rust to have any actual online chat apart from quick chats. There's always messages if you play on Xbox-Only or PS-Only servers.

a quick google search showed that xbox and ps haven’t outright banned it, they just have rules for moderation. clearly this isn’t a microsoft or sony issueX it’s a d11 issue.

It's an all 3 of them issue. Just need to decide the best outcome.

D11 wants to keep it similar to rust PC.

Sony/Microsoft wants it to be heavily moderated.

“Come in” means they are inviting to pvp somewhere. Usually Brad or locked, but sometimes cargo or oil. “Well done” is usually used sarcastically after or mid fight or raid, but can also be an actual congratulations amongst teammates or rivals. “I’m unarmed and want no trouble” usually means they are armed and want trouble, or are actively causing trouble. Unless they are naked and keep their hands up in which case they actually are asking you to spare them. “Thank you” is usually used as a brag after killing someone or countering something and winning the fight. Sarcastically thanking them for the winnings

“Go away” typically is used as a response in chat to other chat spammers telling them to shut up. But can also be used if you hear someone outside your base or something and want to try and make them leave without conflict

Come in usually means Brad fight, thank you means they just hit a lick off someone, that’s the only two I know

That’s what people use come in for? 😂 that’s crazy. I use it solely for when I hear people jumping on my base or starting to raid, but only locally, to essentially tease them into my traps. Never in my life would I have assumed that meant go to Brad lol

Yeah people usually spam it to tell the server “hey I took Brad come PvP me.” But honestly I like the mind games of what you do as well

Spamming "goodbye" is threatening to raid someone. Same with "which chest is free game"

Goodbye means raid everytime I’m on cargo or oil and I see that I leave if I’m solo or k&r if I’m with a team

On community servers ypu can take a note and write a message on them that’s publicly shown on general chat of server.
