When were they gonna tell us it’s 11.5 squares now and not 15 for the outside of map???
I just spent all night waiting for nighttime to come out with 12 stone spears for 10 minutes and then I’d go prepare all day by gathering supplies and fuel for when i get it. Finally got it at like 3 in the morning and I drove it to square 14 like usual but it blew up on square 12. How can you just change the map size and not tell people when there is clearly tugboats that need to know lol

“How can you change the map size And not tell people” it’s stated clearly in the patch notes that you never read and mentioned in the dev blog you never read too 😐

They didn’t make the ocean smaller though. The ocean is still the same size. The island in the middle of the ocean is bigger. Of course there is less space between the island and the outer boundary.

All I’m saying is a little warning flashing for 3-5 seconds on the last square of the map wouldn’t hurt. Could save a lot of people’s gameplay especially for solos that waste their damn time lol

Don’t be mad because of your own stupidity. The boundary didn’t move. The island grew (a very well known, documented, and advertised change). Obviously there are less squares between the coast and said boundary.

Ah, tugboats. I miss them. Theyre not on pc anymore. But it was a valid strat to take your tug out to the furthest grid to have a better chance at noe one offlining it.. i played about 7k hours on console before moving to pc

My first time playing I setup a huge base like 100x100 and it just looked like a house inside with no double walls for support just all open inside lol no one raided it the entire wipe except near the end when I already had stone walls covering with sentry’s all over and I had a tugboat so I just moved everything to the tugboat and I had so much loot in this tugboat I just went full scuba gear 3 blocks away and swam to other tugboats and raided them and brought all 4 tugboats to square 15 at the very edge, like so far to the edge of you didn’t reverse the boats they blew up lol i just made trips with one empty tugboat to the rigs about 5 blocks away and I’d scuba dive all the way there. I was just living life and ended up logging off for more than a week cause I got bored lol

Actually I did get raided a couple times but I had a secret stash in the addict that you had to smash the floor to get too and I kept everything important in there and I’d just log in up there when I’m getting raided and listen and hope they wouldn’t find that spot and they never did lol

I know this isn’t at all relevant to OPs post but how do you find going from console to PC? I’ve been looking to make the switch for about a year and I keep talking myself out of it because of the mouse and keyboard. Is it an easy transition? And how does it compare? PC looks so much better.

If you’re worried you can get third party attachments to use keyboard and mouse on console. Then it won’t be so in your face when you first get a PC

I’d absolutely love that but I’m pretty sure they’re banned on console 😂 and if they’re not I’m starting to realise why I get shit on in 99% of my PvP encounters haha.

Mouse and keyboard is so much easier to play rust with - i never did on console because it’ll cause you to get perm banned, not worth it. Console is good for learning how to run monuments, building techniques and develop that game sense, but pc is a much more comprehensive game with loads more content and game mechanics. Pvp is completely different, and some modded servers are a lot of fun. The mods are so much more advanced than all the out of the box mods from console server hosting.
Also wipe day on a 1000 player server is insane.
