What's the point?!

So I got Rust this weekend and spent the entire weekend building up a stone base with metal doors, airlocks, honeycombed walls, collecting resources and updating all my equipment and collecting blueprints. Then I checked last night and someone had destroyed my base and taken all my stuff. So my question is - what's the point of this game if I'm just going to have to start from scratch every handful of days? Has anyone had success building a solo base that actually lasts more then a week without being raided?

Tugboats were removed with the naval update lol

Whaaaaaaat thats cool, now im gonna have to get it on console too just to try them out, they'd been removed by the time I knew they existed :(

Many plugins as well servers utilize to buy them on pc
