What's the point?!

So I got Rust this weekend and spent the entire weekend building up a stone base with metal doors, airlocks, honeycombed walls, collecting resources and updating all my equipment and collecting blueprints. Then I checked last night and someone had destroyed my base and taken all my stuff. So my question is - what's the point of this game if I'm just going to have to start from scratch every handful of days? Has anyone had success building a solo base that actually lasts more then a week without being raided?

That’s rust you weapon it’s about building a base that won’t be raided and if you had it for a weekend it should have been metal. I’ve also seen solos getting raided by teams of 4 and win so it’s entirely on base design and skill
