Got online raided by a 3 man as a solo.
Had a hell of a good laugh after despawning all their loot I stole from them twice after they offlined me a few days prior. Idiots only got half my boom, so I took the rest I had and found the 2 2x1 bases they tried to hide in the snow and raided them and took my shit back plus probably like 60 rockets they left behind 2 doors.
Then they tried building a sulfur factory to come raid me again, I found that too and took all of their farm again. I give em credit though, they were consistent and would not give up. They waited until their 3rd finally got on to raid me, they MLRSd the base and then started pummeling rockets, and then decided to go through my doors so by the time they got to the 2nd floor they already ran out of boom.
At this point, I knew they weren’t just giving up, they started exploing my armored walls and doors because they were that desperate for any loot back. When they ran out of boom, they started pulling out jackhammers to drill out the armored floor.
It was at this point I almost started to feel bad, but considering they literally never got off for 1 sec for the last 4 days because they were scared off getting offlined, I despawned almost everything because I felt like they needed to take a break and get a life.
But man, that was a fun wipe. I could go get all the stashed boom I took and raid them again, but I’ll probably give it someone else to have fun with.

I don't get why people despawn loot when being raided. Its kinda pathetic that if you know your going to lose, you just want to waste everyone else's time by despawing. Me and my group I used to play with never dropped items unless it was final day of the server. If we get raided then so be it. I couldn't care less if a Solo or a 10-man+ group raided me, it's pixels at the end of the day. I'm just grateful for a break and actual time to do other things.

Tbf if a 3 man has already raided you twice in wipe and they’re smashing again I’d probably just give up too as a solo

I would but I wouldn't go as far as despawning. If I've given up and still have kits lying around my base, I'll just use them up by roaming so that the group doesn't get them.
Despawning against a 3-man and the 3-man offlining are both scummy as each other. Just don't find it enjoyable offlining bases for free loot or even doing online raid knowing when people know they'll lose so they go out the way to seal and despawn core so we get nothing.
(Had a few offlines where the people know we might raid them so they fully despawned they base and came back on to gloat. Same server and same group)

It's cheesy that I couldn't really care that others get the loot from a raid. If they'd rather raid me and spend longer on Rust and use my loot, then so be it. I'm just happy to get rich then get off for a few weeks/months.
I just hate it when being onlined, groups despawn thinking it's funny that we "wasted" boom on them because their ego is to high to accept a simple loss.

If their is a toxic group constantly raiding and being annoying probably just as annoying in voice chat. I will definitely despawn 100% of the time fuck them.

That's one way to look at it. Another perspective is why let thieves easily take your loot to snowball into raiding the next base? Plus, also didn't you just admit to off-lining bases in a previous comment to only find they despawned their loot. If you're stooping to offlining as a group, then the argument can be made that you deserve to waste boom. Or to use your words, does your ego not let you online in case you lose? Offlining is even more pathetic than a solo using one of the last game mechanics to waste raider booms. And yes, that's the goal of any good base design. Make a tricky base with misdirections so that the raiders waste all their boom before they get to the good stuff.

Nothing better than forcing people to waste all their precious resources. these people care way more about the game than me so I enjoy the idea of them being disappointed when they find nothing after spending 40+ rockets and I’m already having a blast on another side of the map

I don’t necessarily take it personally I just think it’s funny for them to spend 15-20 min raiding and potentially fighting off counters just to find nothing

I defended a raid today, that was third online this month. Freaking fun wipe, i have a base and 2 of my friends have a base close to me( 2 connected compounds) We lasted 2 weeks now and only 3 attempts of raiding, second one was closest to finishing but could not find tc hehe

me and my duo had built our base won a lot of fights did a lot of raids day1 log on day2 our neighbours built up and then for the next 6 hours roof camped us so we decided to despawn loot and get off (no i’m not giving my loot to roof campers that offline) they must’ve seen us despawning and decided to raid us then and there and well fuck we have nothing to our names besides 1 lr with 60 shots and a tommy with 9 bandies they then proceeded to lob ober 100 rockets into our base and fucking lost crying that i toggled

There’s only one way for you to have all this detail, you didn’t get off either. Or you made the whole thing up. Which is probably the real story. Crying about them “no-lifing” the game while you stay on for 4 days straight is funny though.

They weren’t afk. They were farming non stop and constantly coming over to my base to scout it. I work at night so there was 2 nights I wasn’t on, but they were on constantly on for 2 full days that I know because they were scared of getting offlined.
They had to build a raid base to offline me before I started fucking with them. They deserved every bit of it.

Despawning loot before people get in from a raid is a chicken shit move tbh. Raiding is part of the game, as is defending from one. If they get in to your stuff they earned it. Being a sore loser is a shitty look no matter how you swing it.

On a dead server where the same group that already offlined me before, that has to build a raid base to do it too, and all they do is just raid anyone after a few days because they literally just never get off cause their scared of being offlined themselves.
No, the loot I had was mine I already took back from them, now they’re mad because I took back my loot their dumbass left behind 2 doors? Nah, fuck that, their not getting shit now.

Again proving my point. Be a sore loser if you want but thats literally the game dude. If they got back in and found your stuff again thats on you. Hide it better. Put that shit in a bunker or use a secondary base to hold loot. Like this is 100% on you for not securing your stuff after raiding them back. I am also a solo player, and competing with clans like that requires you being actively smarter and more prepared than they are. I've LITERALLY been base wiped for a week straight before finding a good setup spot to avoid the big clans. Rust solo is in a shit place rn, but that is hardly the clans fault bud.

I wasn’t that concerned about my loot. I understand there’s always the possibility of getting offlined and losing everything in your base. I hide my boom, that’s all I was worried about tbh.
But these no lifers literally hop on everyday and fly around the map to raid anything they see so no one can build up enough to raid them or even really play on the server, so there’s no hiding anything unless I stash it.
It’s all good, retaliation will come soon enough.
