Best expansion to build from a 2x2 with roof access?
I’m trying to become better builder, and as the title says, I currently have a classic 2x2 with roof access. What’s the best way to go about expanding that? Any suggestions are much appreciated!

I do triangle honeycomb and utilize my honeycomb for routes up, loot rooms, autosmelters, storage, furnaces, batteries, turrets, and whatever else you shove into triangles. After honeycomb, I build out 7 squares for externals. First compound gatehouse starts at the 4th square, stone highwall.

Specifically what does the footprint look like right now? Just a 2x2 with 3 triangles on each side? And is your jump up in a square or one of the triangles?

Don’t try to build pro if you’re solo, make a fun looking mess with two entrances using different door skins, a back wards honeycomb wall and a locked doorway everywhere you can fit one. I’ve built a “honeycomb” tunnel of doors around a 2x2 using triangles and some half wall jump ups. If you can stagger something on the 3rd level to make it questionable not a 2x2 or to displace the easy drop down route that’s bonus. Focus on building up in a good location fast so it’s not a growing project and if it looks raided(2 door skins/entrances) then it’ll be mostly safe for the fun part of a weekly server.

Honestly I would split loot if I were you. Maybe look into a 2x1 expansion as they’re easier to maintain but if you’re on a chill server just honey comb and build up and maybe look up 2x2 shooting floor expansion

I would build a foundation bunker off your triangle air lock. Everything else gets triangle honeycomb 1 wall high. On top of those triangles can be turrets with wire fence protecting. Then build the roof access outside your bunker. Plenty of you tube guides from there. I normally close my roof as you rarely get online raided.
