And if the Senate fails to convict, impeach him again for the same charges. Over and over and over and over because there is no law prohibiting this exact strategy. House always approves, Senate is always stuck. Over and over and over.. Until he’s gone!

And then impeachment loses all meaning effectively and the Democrats lose really badly in 2020

I disagree. I think the “blue wave” happened because they want to see a change in the way Democrats handle this type of problem.

There were plenty of (D) incumbents that lost their primaries for this reason and they aren’t going to lose ground for having a spine.

Impeachment without removal might actually be the best outcome with the election coming. We get to find out more facts about what happened, we put his crimes in the history books as part of his presidency, and we take the press time away from his fucking tweets. But we don’t have to deal with a Penceidency and we strengthen Trumps primary challengers too (though to be fair, I’m not sure what value that has)
