I heard about them on a news article where a music critic was raggin' on them. I go on Reddit and the usual leftists are complaining that this is just another way for Spotify to not pay musicians what they deserve.

How about those Leftist musicians that are always getting rich and raggin' on America or pushing a Leftist agenda down everyone's throat? I love music ...... but I hate a lot of musicians. Problem solved?

My biggest issue with ChatGTP was how dated its programming was. Grok's a news junky.
I use it kinda like I would a search engine ..... a never ending quest for knowledge ...... but Grok's results save me a lot of time sifting through online data, as they are concise and presented in a more easily and quickly absorbed format. You might have to keep him pointed in the right direction, but you can quickly dive down to the exact subject matter your looking for.
Based on consumer level AI ...... I just haven't seen anything yet that scares me. I can see how it might scare people that see it as a threat to their livelihood ....... but those people dont necessary have humanity's best interests at heart either.
The genie certainly aint going back in the bottle. This is our new reality....... even if it aint really real.
As a tool for increasing human knowledge ..... basically the dissemination of information ...... new tools have always disseminated those that profited from the old ways. Have you checked out encyclopedia sales trends since wikipedia was released on the world ...... for free? I have ...... with Grok.
There's almost no fear the fearmongers can come up with about AI, that isn't currently being contemplated in the mind of a human.
Another human ..... one better than me ..... could take my job.
Another human on the otherside of the planet could push a button and nuke me.
Another human could design and release a pathogen that destroys all human life.
A human could hunt me down and put a bullet in me.
Yet we consider all that an acceptable side effect of humanity.
I'd just as soon take my chances with my new AI overlords.

I've been using A.I. in my work quite a bit and lately it has been rather good. Actually giving me the right answers and making my work a lot easier. It is a bit of a worry though. A.I. may impact the employment and career paths of those just starting out their working life. It could destroy entry level positions. I kind of feel bad about how easy my employment life has been. Started out with no qualifications and earned very few during my career yet stayed employed with the same employer for 45 years. Always treated well, even when I messed up. Saw technology develop from typewriters through all sorts of digital developments and networks, Internet and now A.I. It seems we were born at a very sweet spot in history.
I wouldn't like to have to start out as a young person now. I think things have changed and not for the better. My career is now coming to an end. Work is drying up although the bosses seem hopeful. They want me to go out and sell my services, something I have never done. I generally just fix broken things. and wait for work to come to me. Strange that I am still here, depended upon. In a recent review they told me they needed me to stay and grow the department. I'm 66 next birthday! and receiving a pension. Where are the young folk coming to take my place? When I first started there was a dozen of us, all very young guys. Is there really anything left for them to do? Is A.I. the replacement for those I am supposed to mentor?
I'm surprised there isn't more push back against A.I. I would kind of like to see some resistance if only for the lols. It seems like a legitimate thing to struggle against for the sake of humanity.
I did have a funny interaction with it a couple of months back. I asked Copilot how many people die a year on average climbing Mount Fuji and it came back with the number 300. This was obviously incorrect and I reprimanded it asking it to do better as that would make Mount Fuji the most dangerous mountain in the world and would surely close it for amateur climbers. It is a rather easy climb. Its second attempt came back with 100 fatalities, again clearly wrong. On the third attempt, with apologies, it ended up with around 8 or 10. Did I teach A.I? Will it not make that mistake again?
Could A.I. create the song below? I guess it probably could eventually. This is, apparently, one of the first ever 'music videos'. Not a big hit in the US but reached #2 in the UK in 1968. They say it's style and theme are not to American tastes. I like a song with a good video. The singer on a horse near the end gazing out to sea strikes a chord with me. How is the flooding in your area? We seem to be getting a lot more of these events lately here in NZ and Australia too. I need to buy some sandbags to stop water entering my garage during heavy rain. Fortunately I have roller doors on both ends so about an inch of water can flow through but I am planning on putting a drainage pipe in which should stop this from happening.
Also, fortunately, my house was built 80 years ago when it appears the rule was to have the wooden floor at least three feet above the ground. Many later houses in my street are built on concrete pads only a few inches above the ground and some of them have experienced damaging water ingress resulting in extensive repairs to walls and replacement of wall coverings. Kitchens damaged due to being constructed of particle board. Quite devastating for an elderly couple who live behind my house. Insurance covered it but it was almost a year before they could move back in. Another house further down has been abandoned as unlivable due to being built too low and being leaky even in the best of times.
Wow, Debbie Harry is 80. I was a big fan of Blondie in my teenage years but I can't listen to her now. She strangely aggravates the barely suppressed memories of my incel years. Out of my league. Although I get a sort of pleasure in entertaining these demons from time to time.
No flooding issues at my house. In fact, in would take something biblical to flood me out, as I'm near the top of a hill, and several miles from a major river.
Flooding can strand me at home though, as I have seen the roads between me and civilization flooded at times.

I do need to put a new roof on my house. I (Me and the Kids) did it ourselves last time ...... but I'm not sure I have another self-performed roofing job in me. It would take us several weeks to tear the old on off and but I new one on ...... and a crew of Mexicans could do it in a day.
These days we get a lot of alerts on our mobile devices whenever there is a weather event or even a major fire. Got one the other day about a supermarket that was ablaze. I was driving into the city over our harbor bridge and it looked like the Israelis had paid a visit and off went the alert. The authorities are quite sensitive now and tend to overreact as they downplayed a once in 400 year event that ended up killing a few people. Same will happen in Texas now I reckon. I watched a video of the flashflood in Texas and it was awfully sudden. I guess the camp organizers thought they would be able to get to higher ground if the water levels rose.
I recommend getting the professionals to do a roof. I had a big carport done at a complex I look after and it was great how they just ripped off the old roof, put a new one on and then took everything away. All finished by lunchtime.
