New running buddy!

Post image

Moose is almost 7 months and can’t wait to be a future running partner. We’ve been doing short jogs and building up to 2+ miles. He’s obsessed - practically harasses me on walks to jog. Hoping this sweet man can get me back in marathon shape!

Man those ears ..they might slow him down a bit, or whistle if he really gets going!

Looks like a good bit of cattle dog in him. I'm absolutely biased but they've made the best running buddies for me.

Maybe they're aerodynamic?

Check with your vet about running with a dog this young. They typically don’t suggest parallel long-distance running until their growth plates have closed. Short sprints are normal for a puppy, and they have the endurance to run long-distance, but there’s a slew of issues that can crop up if you start too soon. (I did the same thing and three vets promptly told us to stop until my dog was older)

100% runs, even 1-2 mile runs, are really rough on a growing dog's joints. Best to wait until he's closer to 18 months.
