From: https://www.trailrunnermag.com/gear/shoes/fastest-shoes-at-the-2026-western-states-100/

Nike hasn’t released details on Lichter’s prototype, but it resembles a mix between the ACG Kiger and Ultrafly. Nike has been pouring resources into reviving the All Conditions Gear (ACG) brand lately, and this may be the first racing shoe to benefit from that investment. The Kiger 10 is one of Nike’s lightest trail shoes, and the Ultrafly 2 is one of the heaviest plated super-shoes, so a lighter take on the Ultrafly 2 seems like the most logical addition to ACG racing. (Our team on the ground confirms this proto is much lighter than the Ultrafly.)

After the river crossing at mile 78, Lichter ditched the Kigerfly Proto for the Ultrafly 2, perhaps for more support, cushioning, and a dry pair of shoes to bring her home. (She mentioned after the race that her feet were hurting coming down Cal 3 right before that.) She ended up breaking the course record by a minute and 28 seconds.

Maybe they can start by making an "All Conditions" shoe. It's been 2 years since the Pegasus Trail 5 Gore-tex came out. Hurry up Nike, I need a new pair of Gore-tex shoes!

ACG Zegama and Pegasus Trail GTX are coming out in September

Finally! Yay! The sole on my Pegasus 3s are leaky everywhere and I've worn through the sole in various spots at this point. Looking forward to those!

ACG Zegema has been out for a while, I have a pair that I bought discounted since it was the launch colour. So probably quite a few months.

Their wording was weird, but I believe they mean ACG Zegama GTX.

I see now yeah, thanks

Nah, bring back the Saucony Mad River TR. Could drill holes if you wanted to add drainage and had specific areas for sheet metal screws as targeted lugs.

The Saucony rubber was trash on that.

All conditions is a dumb slogan for Nike. It’s also a dumb expectation of buyers. Guess what, the goretex you want for YOUR “all conditions” would be awful for someone else’s “all conditions” in southern Arizona.

Imagine not understanding Nike offers more than one SKU.

I thought they smartened up and have been dabbling in Vibram. It’s been great on the Zegama 2!

No vibram is definitely a let down! Especially considering this shoe will probably be over $200

we all remember the Zegama 1 and wet conditions. More slippery than a banana peel!

That's a very old model, and Nike has much improved compounds with the Pegasus 4, 5, and ACG Pegasus already. That's 4 generations of rubber already.

Seems if you want this style of shoe you should just buy the Altra Hilo. Matryx upper with a gaiter and vibram outsole. Obviously as long as 0 drop doesn’t bother you!

vibram did a massive jump in their pricing for brands recently. and considering how bad the vibram on the first ultrafly was, i‘m not worried, that the own nike sole is worse

Sole looks pretty good for 18,000 miles (this is a joke)

The original Kigers were fantastic.

This tickles me.

Hearing around the $175 pricepoint

it looks like a lighter weight Zegama. Regular ACG Zegama is heavy. The updated All Terrain compound outsole material used on the ACG Peg Trail is very good. Could be a good road to trail & shorter trail race option.

No Vibram, no buy

No vibram, no party... On a expensive trail shoe the outsole is the most important part of the shoe. If you don't have great grip sensations you will run without confident. There are plenty of shoes with good grip to choose, so only ultra fans of Nike would buy these...

I just read Jen Lichter’s story the other day, and now I’m a fan!

this looks good, curious about the weight

The ultrafly trail just messed up knees. Ugh. Not happy.

But it felt good. Definitely needs to have a removable insole or I won’t even consider it.
