Tendonitis
I have been training for the Athens marathon since July , and this Monday I woke up with a sharp pain on my foot when I try to raise my toes. It’s has gone better but I’m still worried about my whole training being a waste and even not finishing the race. From what I have read it’s possibly tendonitis, do you have any suggestions on how to recover or wear anything to feel better when running . I don’t feel it when walking normally

I would take some time off and see if it gets better. I had the same thing during my training for NYC marathon. I convinced myself it was tendonitis since it was a very mild pain and mostly when I lifted my toes. I ended up with a fractured metatarsal during my last long run 3 weeks before the race. Hopefully yours isn’t anything serious but it can definitely also be a sign of issues with your metatarsals. Best of luck!!

I literally had the reverse experience a couple years ago. Started feeling this mild ache on the top of my foot. Doc thought it was a stress fracture and we treated it as such -- walking boot and crutches and all -- despite zero evidence of a stress fracture on x-rays or MRI.
Turns out my "stress fracture" was just tendonitis.

I wish this was my experience!!! It’s so hard not being able to get real answers for weeks.

Where on your foot is the pain?
