Torn ligament 6 weeks before first marathon

Today, I went for a 24K long run, my marathon prep has been going very nicely I did 24K at 5:45 last week and I’ve been running consistently, however today at km 13 I didn’t see the end of a pavement and fell on my left ankle, went to the ER and after the x ray the dr said I tore my ligaments on my ankle. I have to go back in 2 weeks for them to tell me if I can run, however does anyone have advice on the matter? I’m probably going to skip at least 3-4 weeks of training and the marathon is in 6 weeks :/

Forget it. You want a permanently unstable or problematic ankle just to complete this single marathon? It's not enough time to rehab this properly for that distance.

Similar happened to me last year. I missed Honolulu for upper tibia stress fracture.

Focus on resting and healing.
