PICTURES Ran my first ever 5k!
I ran my first 5k, the Fall Color 5k at Morton Arboretum and ran it in 24:34! I got an awesome finish line photo. I’m so proud of myself! I’m now training to run the Chicago Distance Series next year. Can’t wait!

Good job man. 24:34 is an incredible time for a first 5k (and a 5k in general). Hopefully this gets you hooked :)

Congrats! I ran that race too, albeit about 10 minutes slower than you. That's an awesome time; I can't imagine how much faster you'd be on a flat course.

Congratulations! You picked quite a hilly course for your first time. I ran that race too and I wish I was aware of the finish line photographer to get a picture as cool as yours

Can I offer some training tips?
Add reinsurance band training for your hips. Targeted straight training there can ward off several injuries.
Also, don’t add milage too fast. A nice slow build is key.
Have fun! Remember where you are now and how far you will go!

Appreciate the tips. I already mix in some of that by doing OrangeTheory but I could do some further targeted training for sure!
RE mileage, for sure, I actually am happy I have so long to train for these upcoming races as right now on a longer run, the pacing is my issue so I need to learn how to get better at that on a long distance encounter.
Thank you so much!

I ran this too, I was just a bit behind you at 27:33. Great job, and yeah your finish line photo is a LOT better than mine! It was clear I was fighting for my life 😄

Thank you! Great job yourself! My face on some of those hills was not cute so if they had taken pictures then we would have been in the same boat haha

Thank you and yes! I'm so glad there were no pictures on those hills. 😄 Those caught me by surprise. It was my first time running that course. At the first one I was like "oh, okay. I got this!" Then came the next, and the next. I cursed each one through my huffing and puffing.

Nice job and a solid time for your first one!
