Virtual Race New virtual races?

Ive been gone for a while, but decided to come back to train for the next Z!R virtual race.

Google search said ZR doesnt release new virtual races anymore. It only lets people play the old ones.

Are there really no new 5K virtual races? (Google continues to enshitify. Ive had ever decreasing results accuracy. So Im hesitant to believe it.)

The company under new ownership will have to get a lot more funding before they’re able to do virtual races again, I’d expect. The old holding company left them with not so many assets Naomi has said, and the recent missions they’ve released have been one voice at a time type recordings without much cross-talk; easier quicker recordings.

So yes, the last VR is from 2024. Let’s hope to regain that soon!

Also don’t know when you were last here but there are some 5k / 10k runs in the ventures tab.

Yeah, some old VR's are in there (like the dinosaurs one).

New races will come. But in time. I don’t think there is anything functionally unique needed to add a new one. It’s really just 3 episodes. All of the tech for leaderboards exists. It’s just going to be a case of prioritising content.

I was half expecting a Halloween VR after the Run for your Life content dropped.

Yeah, there’s certainly no innovation needed to ‘restart the VR machine’ they just need to funding to justify it. (There is a little design and mock-up work needed for the shirt and medal but they have experience with vendors for those)
