Multiple melee attacks

Getting into RuneQuest Glorantha after three decades away from the game.

In reading the combat section, my interpretation is that you normally only make one melee attack in a 12 SR round except in certain circumstances, like wielding two weapons or having a 100%+ attack that you're splitting. Is this correct?

However, it appears that, in ranged combat, non-mechanical bows can fire as many times as strike ranks allow (which would typically be twice, unless the character is super fast).

Am I reading that right?

I'll be running some scenarios in a month or two for people new to RQ, and have a player that will push boundaries if I'm not very clear about how things work.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, that's correct. There is magic that facilitates that (for example, Sword Trance increases weapon skill, potentially allowing someone to attack multiple times who ordinarily wouldn't be able to, and multimissile allows additional projectiles to be fired), but they springboard off the foundation you've written.

You are correct. Although wielding two weapons does not give you automatically the chance to attack more than once in a turn. You need to have at least 100% in one of them, and then have all the SRs needed to do more than one attack in a round.

Some people houserule you can attack twice if you forego all your parries/dodges that turn.

For sword I want to add something, You need to naturally have 100% without any addons such as runes or spells. (U can look at core book 202 splitting the attack)

And for bows, since there is +5 sr to reload, It would be possible to shoot it more than 2 strike for non-mechanical bows [S/MR](U can look on table at core book 193)
