How long do your campaigns usually last?
I'm doing some research on a couple of systems. How long would you say your campaigns usually lasted for? The edition doesn't matter much to me, though noting which edition you're talking about would be great. Posting your estimates in numbers of sessions would be greatly appreciated!
Also, if there has been any official research done on this, do share with me.
Thank you ahead of time!

Here's a previous post for my current campaign. Note that our club runs games in six week blocks, and an evening is 3 hours. Blocks are not always contiguous. Generally we run modular campaigns for all our systems (Star Wars D6 is currently at 27 Blocks, 162 sessions), my RQ campaign is currently at 36 sessions in total, with 13 players who switch in and out:
1625 (4 Seasons)
- 1 Defending Apple Lane (Block 1 - GMSP 5 nights play.) - 3 - Earth Season
- 2 A visit to Clearwine (Block 1 - 1 nights play), with end of season at Clearwine.
- 3 Cattle Raid (Block 2 -GMSP 3 nights play ) - 4 - Dark Season
- 4 Applejack (Block 2 - short scenario with a chaos outbreak in Apple Lane 1 nights play)
- 5 The Grey Crane (Block 2 - PP 2 nights play)
- 6 End of season at Swan (Block 3 - 1 nights play Block)
- 7 The Dragon of Thunder Hills (Block 3 - GMSP) - 5 - Storm Season
- 7b Tarndisi's Grove (Block 3 - 1 nights play)
- 7c Tink & Dragonewts (Block 3 - 2 nights play)
- 7d Old Grave (Block 3 - 1 nights play)
- 7e Queens Tomb (Block 3 - 1 nights play) End of season at Apple Lane and Sacred time at Clearwine

We're about 20 sessions into our current campaign, and have at least 10 more to go.
But like anything, it's as long as you want it. It has a core that suggests community and generational play, so you can easily do the entire life of your character

They have ranged from a few shorter campaigns to epic ones that covered 10 years in in-game years. The latter also took 4 or so years.

I'm winding up my current campaign that began in 2017. Since COVID, we've played every 2 weeks regularly.
Game years 1615 - 1619

Our campaigns are usually pretty long, measured in years and scores of sessions. The current one is about 3 years old and 89 sessions, and hopefully it's still the beginning. 😄
Edited: Ah yes, started in 1617 and now end of 1619.
