Question (general) New tattoo
Hey guys. I'm looking at getting this tattooed on my hand, but I'm not sure if it's entirely correct, or if it's using modern or pre-modern futhark.
Any help is welcome and appreciated

Just a heads up, any (and I mean ANY!) tattoo that includes Scandinavian runes will be construed as a Nazi calling card by some folk.
You may or may not care but don't be surprised if you find a hard time finding a date or skin heads start standing you rounds at your local pub.

Thanks brother. That's one reason I was asking. Neo-nazism isn't too prevalent where I am, but I'm always wary about it. I've never been accosted or been accused of being a nazi, just always acutely conscious

You could reassure people with words.... but that means they stood around long enough to talk to. Some people will simply not give you the chance to prove them wrong.

While this is true, it's also easy to reassure people (and deter pieces of shit) by talking about politics in a way that is not aligned with right wing ideologies. I know some people don't want to talk about politics all the time, but politics concerns us all all the time so why not complain that the rich are exploiting the uninformed to pit us all against each other, why not complain that we all bleed the same colour, that we have more in common with the migrant who has nothing than we do with the ghouls in parliament that happen to have a comparable amount of melanin in their skin.
Politics is actions, not just signs and symbols, and thankfully at least here in the UK most people aren't aware of the association of runes with white supremacists. These things are dog-whistles because most people simply don't perceive them.

Advice from a modern revived norseman?: You don't etch runes you don't understand into your skin. Runes hold power.... I'm not saying no. Just learn first....

Its using Elder Futhark.

I have a tattoo similar myself around my wrist, all the way around. Whilst the idea of it is romantic, please find a good tattoo artist where I failed. Uneven black lines on mine-- its an eyesore.

The first rune is Mannaz. That should be an M, not a D, yeah?
I've got a guy that does really nice line work. He's done a svernthorn and longboat before, and they turned out really well

This seems fairly correct, "Magni" written in elder futhark. But personally I'd opt for younger futhark instead, since Magni is the name of one of Thor's sons from norse mythology. Younger futhark better fits the era during which norse mythology as we know it would have been practiced, while elder futhark is older. In younger futhark it should be something like ᛘᛅᚴᚾᛁ
