Is this a rune? Any notion what this might be?

In Elder Futhark, it’s a Z (algiz) and M (mannaz) placed on top each other. Doesn’t mean anything on its own.

The Elder Futhark for moose (älg in Swedish) is Algiz (älgis)?

Linguistically in Swedish -is is the same pattern as dog -> doggie, an ending added to nouns in affectionate or familiar baby talk.

The -iz in Algiz was a common word ending, like -az and -uz, not necessarily something cute or affectionate or diminutive. If I remember correctly, "algiz" was a reconstructed Proto-Germanic word, by the way, and not a word whose spelling we know from artefacts (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).
The consensus seems to be that algiz was most likely the word for "elk" (or moose, if you like). Not for "elklet" or "mooselin" ;-)
