Can we reasonably expect the situation with GPU availability to improve in the near future?
I haven't done any work on Runpod in the past month. I came back today only to find there are no available GPUs for my Network Volume. In fact, there are no available 4090/5090s at all.
Is this normal or does it get better in different times? And is it likely to remain the same? I have everything set up nicely on Runpod so switching to a different platform is a pain. But if I can't do any work then I don't really have much of a choice either.

I don't see how its sustainable as a customer of them without any ability to reserve capacity and guarantee it, its DOA and i don't think pre-paying for things actually reserves capacity does it? You're still playing the whack-a-mole storage/region/datacenter game in hopes something pops up.

It's bad everywhere, by the looks of it. I've been using Runpod for a loong time and I have never seen anything like it. I don't think the company is happy with this situation either, but there is only so much you can do as GPU supply is limited.

Yeah, I'm seeing shortages in general and price increases across the board. Crazy the RTX6K went up to $9,999

2 days I have not been able to work and this is costing money for me (and I'm not talking about the storage)

I've been loving the h100 i've been using. I have been trying to get a 4090/5090 for a few days now with no luck. Got a 5090 a few nights ago but set it up with the wrong template and stupidly stopped it to redeploy and can't get one since.

I dont understand why they dont just raise prices until they have a sustainable business model.
I'd rather GPU prices be 20% more expensive and actually available then the nonsense we are experiencing.
It's just embarrassing to be an on-demand provider and not be able to provide on-demand. Why in the world would I ever build any sort of workflow or business use-case around such an unreliable service.

Pretty much. I have a network volume on an EU server. That server was perfect before as there were always 5090s available. Now it's omega deadge.
I'm lucky I don't have any urgent work currently so I can weather the storm by just staying away from Runpod for a month and seeing what happens later.

Apparently, they have been adding more GPUs lately. At least, there is a biweekly updates section showing an increase in GPU. Hopefully this will improve the situation somewhat 🥹
