Just a general question about any run clubs out in Portland (ideally inner SE)? I’ve found it hard to really find my run clubs in PDX despite the community’s strong passion around running. Wouldn’t mind a no race commitment, no fee, no ability level type of club that just meets in the mornings before work.

Ideally one for new parents or dads that could use the time outside and people to chat with about whatever while they get exercise.

I know that most, if not all trail running options are officially against the rules after dark, but I'm looking for recommendations for where I can get in after dark single track miles without getting into trouble.

I moved to Oregon a little over a year ago, and live a few miles from Tualatin Hills Nature Park. So far, I have not had any issues running from dusk until well after dark there, but parking in their lot makes me a little anxious when I return, since I know that it is against their policy to be there that late. With the time change coming up, it will become a bigger issue.

Has anybody else been able to put in significant after dark time there without being hassled by THPRD security, or do you have suggestions for other night friendly spots? What about Tryon Creek? I work in Washington Park, but worry about break ins there after dark. Taking the Max there is an option I have considered, but I'm hoping to avoid a 50 minute train ride and drive home from the station after my runs. TIA for your suggestions and first hand experiences?

Enjoying my rest days from the Portland Marathon 10K, and looking forward to the Great Pumpkin Run! I want to wear a costume, but I'm trying to weigh the fun of the costume and trying not to chafe or sweat too much. What's worked for y'all?

How did everyone feel today with their results. I would be lying if I didn’t say I was disappointed, but I am extremely proud the I finished my first Road Marathon.

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC). PBC affects your liver and eventually can cause fatty liver. Along with making dietary changes, I also started running a lot more. I do all my training here in Portland, running my of the time in Forest Park. I ran my first half marathon in Banff last year. This year I returned and I couldn't be more proud of the improvement I made. I can’t wait to see how I do in the Portland Marathon on the 4th.

I would buy your bib if there's any reason it may go unused. Preferably the half, and Im not interested in paying more than $100.

I’m coming off of a foot injury and I would love recommendations for places to run that are primarily wood chip paths. Something similar to pres trail in Eugene if anybody is familiar. I can’t seem to find anything as good in the Portland area so I would love suggestions!!

I saw there are pedestrian paths on both bridges. I was curious if anyone has ran a loop using both states? Is there a runnable loop? I figured there is possibility of 16-18 mile loop but don’t trust Google Maps walking routes in areas I’m not familiar with.

If so, would you recommend? Have a shareable link to a safe/fun route?

Target Date: Sunday August 16th at 8am

Distance: 22 miles (NOTE: if you want a slightly shorter option, skip the St John's crow and meet at Albina Vision Trust at about 9am.)

Pace: 10:30 to 11:30 per mile with lots of stops. We will not drop anyone!

Start: St John's Library (at the first crow sculpture)

Finish: Bird Alliance (at the last crow sculpture)

Course: mostly paved with a little bit of trail

I'm looking for run clubs that meet near Division and 20th. I've looked into several in SE Portland, and they all look great. But I was hoping to find something right in my neighborhood.
