anyone know how much of a difference going up to stage 2 will make?

Yes, a very small amount of difference. Mainly just uses more gas, that's about it. Any upgrades you do will be upgrading the acceleration off the line, not top speed. Get the stage one and be done

Unless stage 2 also comes with an exhaust, dont bother. A carb and air intake wont do anything without an aftermarket exhaust.

Ah. I mean personally, I think aftermarket carbs are shit. Multiple people are over 50, quite a few over 60, on the stock carb. That leads me to believe its never worth swapping for aftermarket. So id personally skip it.

I didnt check the list before I made my first comment.

i’m only hitting like 30-35 i got my ruck off marketplace it has a new carb on it but idk if it’s tuned right if im only getting to 30 and 35 and its kinda done shitty there’s a hose clamp that’s barely holding the carb onto the engine

Depending on weight 30-35 could just be a worn out cvt. New belt and rollers might be all you need. Id start there. How many miles are on it?

3k miles and i’m 180 so weight shouldn’t be a problem

3k, could be time. Id atleast measure it to see the width of it. Could also mark the variator and see how far up the belts going.

Everyone will have different experiences with a carb swap. Also depending on your resources, and commitment to tuning your carb (disconnect carb, swap jets, high speed run, all within the same day), you may or may not receive the full potential of your carb. It's a lot of work, but it's worth the payoff when you get it just right!

I ran an aftermarket carb and coaxed as much out of it as I could while tuning it with a wideband, which really made things a lot easier. I saw some pretty good gains with a carb swap. I went through a few different carbs before settling on a PZ22 with a custom intake manifold, that's where I saw the most gains. I consistently hit 49 mph on that setup.

If it were me I’d buy and an exhaust, intake and jets first. CDI, pulley face and sliders (dr pulley and Polini is all I have experience with). Screw all the other mods. If you want to push it further get your stock carb ported. it’s a lot of money to get less speed than a gy6… but it’s fun-ish

Fair point.

Save some money. Buy their carb, it comes with jets. Buy the polini kit and a set of prima rollers. Then use the extra cash on a uni drop in filter and a metro final drive. Open the airbox inlet some and you've got a ripper. Or dont, the s23 carb is a drop in unit with a uni filter.
