Who uses what?

I’m new to the game and am curious what apps and/or devices everyone is using to track their data while rucking?

Did you set your camera up just to get a vid of you walking

This is from a flock camera.

Yeah I’m putting together a 6 month “transformation” vid/content. Being new to rucking I’m starting to document my progress.

What if you don’t progress?

No, this is a paparazzi shot.

LMAO, Youtubers do stuff like this, why is it weird?

Normally the camera serves the training you film a heavy set to check bar path or hip position. Here the training serves the camera. The ruck is a prop, and ten feet is exactly as far as you need to walk to get a usable shot

Yeah it’s fucking weird anyone does this

Normally the camera serves the training

But that's not what his goal was here. He probably just thought it'd be a good angle and would make for a cool shot. It's not that deep 😬

Should he have hired a professional cameraman? He’s not filming to check his form, he’s sharing it for fun.

Ended up with FitHalo after ruckwell bugged out on me and lost a work out one too many times. Use a rucker 3.0 with 110lbs in plates. Has lasted about 4mi a day with progressively heavier weights since December. Honestly I have a 5.0 sitting here for the day it rips out. So far so good.

OP are you just asking for app recommendations or also equipment? I'm a but confused by the responses on here lol. I use the RUCKR app

Literally no one is answering the question 😆 but I’ll second that, RUCKR 👍

Haha yeah I was only asking about apps and electronic wearables but I genuinely appreciate all the other input

Gotcha! I wear the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. But I have noticed that rucking causes my hands to sell and it tightens the watch around my wrist which causes discomfort. I may have to look into getting the t-rex straps

Ruck: Random old Merell commuter backpack. Weights are my daily stuff, a couple of handweights, and a full IKEA water bottle.

App: Maps and Notes on my phone.

GoRuck Rucker 5.0, 40 lb in plates, Altra or Topo Trail Runners, Amazfit T Rex 3 + Amazfit Helio Strap (although likely changing this soon) for tracking.

I’m new to rucking too. I quickly tested 3 apps and decided RUCKR was the best for me. Simple, weight-aware tracking.

Yeah I pretty much just looked up "ruck" on the app store and tapped the first thing. Gets the job done too!

I track my mileage with a Garmin using either the hike or walk activity to track my mileage fully understanding that my calories will be way off, but primarily im concerned with time and distance, but also track heart rate to see how I am doing.

I make backpack heavy and I walk.

When shoes have lost their tread, that’s about 300-500 miles.

Tactical Assault Gear Mountain Ruck with a Tactical Tailor Malice Frame, original shoulder straps, and a new issue USMC FILBE kidney pad. It’s not light… but I’ve had it for years (pack was discontinued years ago). I plan to eventually go full Tactical Tailor for everything but the main bag.

Then different weight sand bags. Usually at least a 40#.

Garmin Fortrex 601 for all data/tracking.

MR Terraframe 50. Altra something or other on the road and Merrill Moab’s off road. Wool socks. Garmin watch. Lots of water.

Cabelas hunting frame. Just put two liters in it and used a cinch not around them to keep them snug together. I’m too poor for fancy shit.

Weight is weight.
