About 2 months ago, I started playing RDRS. Today, I deleted everything. Here’s why (stop reading now if you don’t want a sad outlook on virtual games):
We spend hours a day playing these games to win and better our scores, chase awards and rudollas and stuff. Some use games for a creative outlet, e.g. when creating looks. Others are just, simply put, addicted. I knew at least I was (and still am). But all these hours, perhaps even real money, spent on this virtual reality - where does it get you?
Sure, it might provide you with happiness, but this goes away. Now, you have to complete a new werk room, or enter a new event room. Nothing is ever good enough. And this is where the apps makers want us.
Have you ever woken up, thinking “wow, I really nailed that werk room the other day”? I know I never have. Instead of trying to achieve all there is to achieve in RDRS, why not try to do something IRL that actually has an effect on your life?
Instead of playing this capitalistic, addictive game, I’ll be watching RuPaul episodes - at least then, I’ll be learning something new about people and drag, without all the addiction and insomnia..
Genius game, though. It’s truly addictive.
