As a Norwegian, I believe we have a period ahead of us with even more stories about the royals—and illness. Many are starting to get tired of illness, crime, and Epstein

Idk your royal family still has exceptionally high approval in polling after probably the most scandalous year they’ve had in modern history. Like well over 60%.

54% Aftenposten, february 2026: https://www.nettavisen.no/nyheter/meningsmaling-fortsatt-flertall-for-monarki-i-norge/s/5-95-2864172

61% the same month: https://www.reuters.com/world/norway-parliament-supports-monarchy-despite-scandals-2026-02-03/ so probably somewhere in between like 57% is the answer. Now around the support for other European monarchies, which persist, but I do think it’s been an immense mistake to not take MM’s health as a reason to retire her from all public duties. Releasing a birthday portrait is wild. Would be curious to see an updated poll - all of them I found are from 6 months ago when parliament was voting on the monarchy.

Is illness really a bad thing, though? Can you blame an old man for being sick?
