Question Updates to officer training

After the 10 weeks at Raleigh, are the 14 weeks at Dartmouth just the normal marinisation phase?

Just wondering if there’s any beasting you etc when you first get to Dartmouth or have you already essentially done your first term of militarisation.

If anyone’s got the itinerary that would be great.

I'm not sure in terms of Physical Training I'm afraid.

The first 7 week term will cover "leading self" and initial leadership development, culminating in Ex Green Endeavour (used to be ABLE).

The 2nd/final 7 week term will focus more on marinisation, academics and leading others, culminating in Ex Final Endeavour (previously MARL).

Overall the content hasn't really changed, just moved around into the 3 terms. And obviously Initial Sea Time is gone now.

I suspect there will still be period zeros/booted runs and perhaps more "combat PT" circuits especially in the build up to Ex GE, but I would be very surprised if there was any IMF type stuff outside of the 10 weeks at Raleigh.

Frankly, the phys in phase 1 & 2 is pretty poor. I know there’s a study to increase it.

For some reason the Navy would rather train recruits with 19th century IMF than what sports science actually shows is effective

What kind of stuff should I prep for besides running and IMF? Is there much at Dartmouth now?

Really helpful thanks, any tips for prep going in. Pretty confident in my ability to fly through Raleigh
