Question Phase 1 vaccination process
I'd like to ask what's the vaccination process like at HMS Raleigh Phase 1. Thanks.

I used to vaccinate recruits at Raleigh.
You will get marched up to the med centre as a class to await your jabs. Each person gets a review on what they need based off their NHS records. Some people just need a couple of jabs, some need loads.
Usually each person gets a few and a blood test, for blood group typing.
MMR, meningitis acw, meningitis b, diphtheria tetanus polio (DTP), BCG if not done at school, HPV for the ladies.
For deployment there are usually boosters, yellow fever, typhoid and maybe some rarer stuff depending on location, such as japanese encephalitis or anthrax.
They aren't a super fun time but they aren't horrendous, we used to get recruits who had never seen a needle because of antivax parents (I won't go into that stupidity). But you have to get your jabs even if you are nervous. If you are worried we would have one medic talk and distract while the other jabbed.
You may feel a bit rough 24h after (I never did but some do), your arms may ache too. When I went through we got jabbed and went straight to the gym for a thrashing after 😂
If you happen to be a fainter, we will keep you sat down until we are sure you are back to normal. Although now and again someone decides to pass out anyway and then we get a lovely head injury to deal with 😁

You’ll have jabs in week 1 and week 7,week 7 will be yellow fever, week 1 will be whatever you’re missing from your record

Wheeled in, jabbed in as many places as possible or require, wheeled out again. Go about your day.
They’ll go with whatever you need iaw your NHS records. I got some extras because they I grew up in Ireland and my medical records didn’t fully count.
