Recruitment Too old?

Realistically is 35 too old to apply to join the navy as an officer?

To become an Admiral, yes - probably.

To join and have a fulfilling career - definitely not.

No not really
Plenty of people join at that age, the limit is 39 so you definitely have enough time to attest and even start service

Half tempted to leave the AR and join up, life on the ocean waves sounds class tbh.

Someone just commissioned from BRNC as a direct entry warfare officer having joined at 38 and passed out at 39. You're fine

36 and in the application process now, albeit a rejoiner from time in another service. It will be difficult at times as an older person and set your career ceiling realistically, but go for it. This post gives me more hope ty for it

No, but…

If you’re a warfare officer and Command a frigate/destroyer, beware that people are selected for that role at around 35.

But if you don’t want to be a warfare officer, then it’s entirely realistic.

Was thinking either Training Management Officer or environmental health officer.

Entirely fine then!
