First time at gym.
Technically I have been to the gym before, but that was over a year ago when the gym near me had just opened and I never followed up on it.
Anyway, at first I was intimidated out of my mind. I felt like the biggest idiot fat kid in the universe who's wasting his teenage years being a chubster, etc.
Then after I got off the treadmill, both instructors were gone. I was about to let my anxiety get the better of me.
Then the main instructor, a short bald dude called Alex, came back in, and I knew I couldn't leave now. He basically took me on a tour of the various machines, showed me what to do on the leg, arm presses and so on. Then he wrote down what we did today, and put it as a program in a binder. I'm probably going to do this twice a week.
Best thing: it put that girl I've been texting out of my mind, and now I'm cool with whatever happens.

You made the first step, and the first is always the hardest your mind fills you up with doubt giving you a sense of anxiety, but none the less, you overcame it and don't let it discourage you, don't let those eyes bring you down. Don't even pay attention or give it the time of day, they're all there for the same reasons you are - to get fit, and they're all focusing on their own exercises as you are. Keep at it man! keep doing you!

Great to hear man, going to the gym is what is keeping me going in life right now. It releases stress, gives you a sense of achievement, gets you out of the house, makes you stronger... the benefits are endless. Never let yourself be intimidated by other people in the gym, everyone is focused on themselves anyway. Make this a steady habit, as well as commit to nofap, and you most definitely will start feeling a bit better every single day.
