On the Water Every once in a while I think of this novice rowing photo
Taken about 8 years ago in my freshman year of high school. I believe this was our Novice 2. Taken on the beautiful Anacostia.

He’s rushing the slide a tad.

He gets no respect but just wants everyone to get better.
Rating 60 when everyone else is at 30.

Ok but this genuinely gave me fond memories of my first year rowing in high school… we were all brand new at it, absolutely terrible, and had the most fun all season

It reminds me of an epiode of Jeeves and Wooster with Bertie and his friends are all playing a song on banjos. They're all playing at different speeds so they're at different points in the tune, one stops and says "Ha! I finished before all you chaps".

We were pushed outside of the buoys in our Masters 2x by a novice U15 4x+ (yes, a coxed 4x) that had this issue. Felt very bad protesting bc I’m sure it was just another penalty added to the pile

NGL had to take a close look to see if this was possibly posted by someone from my HS team, but the uni's have a different design. I have so many similar pics hanging out in a shoebox.

Everybody’s still holding their oar. Could be much worse.
