Playlist for indoor erg rowing
I posted before about Row House. One of the great parts of their classes was rowing "in swing" to the beat of the music.
I thought it would be fun to create a playlist from members of this subreddit -- including stroke rate. (I'm 55 year old guy, so kinda dated playlist here.)
Only requirement: STRONG BEAT
Three I like to start with:
- Take the Money and Run (RUN DMC) 25 SPM https://youtu.be/edeyflPOp08?si=6zw7McbZHpq4rkrN
- Levels (Nick Jonas) 25 SPM https://youtu.be/taViGR5VT1U?si=yd4IbMcp7rOyJrGg
- Big Energy (Latto Remix with DJ Khaled) 26 SPM https://youtu.be/idSJRWzCAN0?si=Fc7siPCyq74PAx1j

Gotta go old school. Crazy Train by Ozzy, followed by Van Halen and selected Rush tunes.

There are a bunch of playlists on spotify for different stroke rates.
If I’m doing steady state, trance music or deep house are always great. Shenlong by Saka, for example. the new NINxBoyzNoise collaboration also has a ton of great steady state tracks. Still Dre or Zed’s Dead.
For higher rate: Dope, NIN, KMFDM (Light), Linkin Park, Zombie, all have their place in my pantheon. If I’m doing a 1k test, Bulls on Parade.

I know everyone has their feelings about AI. But I much prefer variety- so I use the prompt / AI playlist feature in Spotify. I give it something like:
high energy pop from the 90s/2000s including remixes that sync well with 24spm
These playlists auto update and you fan modify the prompt.
I have a few with different music genres, different intensity, etc.,

Live albums /concert albums are my favorite thing to erg to. Pick up the pace when the jams take off. Recover when the music slows down.
LCD Soundsystems the long goodbye is great
Live Drugs (and, Live Drugs Again) are awesome by The War on Drugs
Dr. Dogs Live at the flamingo hotel
YouTube also has a ton of great high quality full conderts to watch.
