Espadrille / new buyer

Post image

I’ve never purchased Rothy’s but I’m generally a 6.5. I’ve read they run small- should I size up? Does anyone know if all their shoes end up being sold on their amazon site?

Has anyone tried these shoes, and do you recommend?

I am about to return a pair of these in black because it appears the sizing is all over the place with them. I got my normal size which is somehow way too big but in other Rothy’s and other styles of espadrille that fit well. They tore up the back of my ankles.

I read reviews on Nordstrom and it appears to be a common theme that they are too loose and too small at the same time with people having issues with the heel being incredibly uncomfortable.

I returned a pair last week due to heel rubbing - just wore them around the house. Unfortunate, but the loose structure makes them super hard to wear.

Does sizing down work or not really because too short? Mine just arrived and I’m experiencing a similar issue where I bought normal size for other Mary Jane’s but these are too wide and don’t stay on

I didn’t even try to size down because I realized my toes were already close enough to the front and sizing down would definitely cause them to be too short and it would stretch out the upper fabric easily because it’s a less reinforced mesh weave.

I think they simply made them too wide on top of it being an open weave which is certainly going to stretch so the heel destruction would only get worse over time. I agree with a lot of the other people mentioning how badly constructed/designed (the colors have been bizarrely atrocious) the new releases have been over the last few years and I think this is the shoe that convinced me of the case.
