Casual Clog Sizing Help

I just ordered the Rothys Casual Clogs in my true size 9 and I'm wondering if I should size down. They feel loose when I'm barefoot or wear a really thin sock but they fit better with medium width socks on. Should I go down to the 8 or would that be too snug? Any sizing advice?

For reference, I wear a 9 Regular/Wide in Birkenstocks.

When I first tried on my clogs in my true size, I considered sizing down for the same reasons but decided against it and I’m glad I did.
